Rat Bastard Brewing
Black Plague Pale Ale
Rat Bastard Brewing is a “micro-micro-brewery” located in Nashville, Tennessee. It began when two friends wanted to make craft beers with their own twist, all inspired by rat themes. Because the Black Plague (or Bubonic Plague) in the 1300s was a literal “rough” time, rough illustrations and scanning techniques were used to create the general design for the bottle labels and packaging. The Black Plague was chosen as a theme for this beer because it is commonly known that rats and other rodents were involved in the disease spreading rapidly across Europe.
